The auxiliary tank kit LRA is designed for Land Rover Discovery I. This configuration includes two auxiliary tanks installed in the left and right sills of the vehicle, offering a total additional capacity of 90 liters of fuel.

The original main fuel tank is retained, and the installation utilizes a filling system located in the wheel wells. This layout increases the vehicle's range while preserving the available space under the chassis. The original exhaust system is retained, and there is no need to relocate the spare tire.

Since 1989, LONG RANGE AUTOMOTIVE designs and manufactures its tanks in Australia. Each model is developed for a specific vehicle application. The objective is to optimize the available volume while respecting the mechanical constraints of the chassis, filling, exhaust and transmission.

The reservoirs LRA They are made of 2mm T125CQ steel. They incorporate internal baffling to limit fuel movement, as well as an expansion chamber. Before being sold, they undergo pressure tests and several quality control checks. Tests are also carried out over dozens of kilometers of heavily degraded tracks. These tests verify the tank's resistance to vibrations, repeated twisting, impacts, and the stresses of prolonged off-road use.

The assembly time is estimated at approximately 6 hours for the entire system.

We also do use the pickup in the forest, with brushes and stumps on its ways. So, we decided to replace the original skid plates with something sturdier. Almont4WD skid plates are sturdier than the original, definitely! All vulnerable parts are covered, there is one plain level from front to back, with no screws sneaking and ready to be torn off. The parts are to mount easyly, and vehicle maintenance still is an easy job, too. Almont4WD is an excellent choice for the one who need the ultimate skid protection.
